In October there is something on every single day. One bar per day, its height the number of events. Edition 01 — September 2026. Illustration: Festro.

Thursday 1 October, in Montréal

Three things on that day, taken straight from the catalogue:

  • Hallowe'en costume contest — Bibliothèque Mercier, free participation throughout October, during library opening hours.
  • Montréal Guitare Trio plays Morricone — Église Jean XXIII, 7.30 pm, free; tickets required, listed as sold out when checked.
  • Two Door Cinema Club — MTELUS, 8 pm.

Three examples from the catalogue. Forty listings have a start date of 1 October.

What is live

  • Date collections. Tonight, tomorrow, this week, this weekend, or only what is free. Open it, look, go out. A shared link opens straight in the app if you have it installed.
  • Venue pages. Every venue with a page shows the upcoming events listed there, whoever announced it. No more going through five separate event pages to find out what is playing near you this week.

The catalogue

3,213 upcoming event listings in Montréal on 1 October 2026. Festro also has 69 venue pages.

Free library exhibitions, theatre, improv, concerts, club nights. Not only nightlife.

Our analytics counted 377 active users between the launch on 20 August and 30 September — across the site, iPhone and Android.

If you run events

Your page probably already exists, and it fills itself from public sources.

Claim it and the page becomes yours: you can manage your events and edit their details, while keeping your existing ticketing. Claiming is free.

Claiming your page does not mean giving up source syncing. You can keep your events synced from your connected sources while managing them on Festro. Syncing respects your edits, and you can switch to manual management if you prefer.

What we fixed

Events announced without a start time were displayed at 8 pm. That was not a time, it was a default. Someone turning up at 8 for a show that started at 7 has lost their evening, and the organiser was credited with a time they never announced.

Since 24 August an event with no published time says so plainly, and the ones already stored were corrected.

Next month

We are aiming at three things:

  • cover more of the city, and sooner — with a hand from artificial intelligence on the engine that follows what is happening in Montréal;
  • go and meet organisers, one at a time, so the people who make these events happen hold their own page;
  • a first event bookable end to end on Festro.

Intentions, not release dates.

// One thing to do
